New Report Highlights Language Learning Challenges, and Opportunities
A recent Ynet report highlights an important challenge in Israel’s education system: significant gaps in language proficiency among students.
Some of the key findings stand out:
- Only 22% of 9th-grade students meet the expected level in English
- Just 38% meet the required level in their native language
- In Arabic-speaking schools, only 9% of students met the English requirements, compared to 27% in Hebrew-speaking schools
These numbers don’t just reflect a challenge, they point to a meaningful opportunity to strengthen one of the most essential skills for the future.
