From Testimony to Connection: A Day of Meaning for TALMA Fellows
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, TALMA’s full-year fellows gathered at Achva Academic College for a powerful and meaningful program, a day dedicated to memory, connection, and learning.

The afternoon began with a shared lunch on the grass, creating a warm sense of community. After lunch, the fellows joined Achva’s English student teachers for a moving testimony from Anne Katz, who shared the story of her parents, both Holocaust survivors. Her words were deeply personal and profoundly impactful, bringing history out of textbooks and into the present moment. For the fellows, educators themselves, it was also a poignant reminder of their role: not only to teach, but to carry forward the voices and stories that must never be forgotten.

Later, fellows and student teachers came together in small, diverse discussion groups. The groups included participants from different sectors of Israeli society. Through open and honest conversations, they reflected, listened, and built bridges across different backgrounds, creating moments of empathy and understanding. TALMA fellows who were stranded abroad joined the program via Zoom, a powerful testament to their dedication and connection to one another and to the mission.

This was not just a commemorative event. It was an experience that bridged distances, geographical, cultural, and generational. It brought people closer: to each other, to history, and to the shared responsibility of remembrance.
It was, in every sense, unforgettable.
